Many reasons can be attributed for the migration of Outlook
Express users to other platform but one thing can be sure it all started with
Windows Vista. When Vista was launched those using Outlook Express on XP can’t
use it anymore when they upgraded to this OS. Microsoft provided an alternative
to Outlook Express in form of Windows Live Mail for Vista so those who wanted
to shift their old mailbox to Windows Live Mail needed a dbx to eml converter
which can easily convert their Outlook Express Emails to Windows Live Mail
format.
Reason No 1 For the Outlook Express Migration
Windows Vista did not matched up to the expectation and
hence was rejected by the masses. Microsoft soon launched Windows 7 which was easier
and user friendly. In this same time
period Windows Live Mail was superseded by Windows Mail and in essence both are
same but Windows Mail comes with added functionality. The requirement did not
changed since those migrating from OE still needed a dbx converter that can
convert dbx emails to Windows Mail eml format.
Reason No 2
The final nail in the coffin was made when Microsoft stopped
providing the update for the XP Operating System. At this point of time there
was no choice but to upgrade to Windows 7 or 8 and use Windows Mail or Outlook
for email conversation. This was the point when there was huge spike in need of
dbx to eml converter tool that helped the user to make the transitions.
Reason No3
Last reason I believe is many instances of database
corruption when OE either ask user to compress the dbx files or did it
automatically which in many cases resulted in corrupt dbx files and become no
longer accessible to the users and only thing they can do is rely on their
backup or use recovery software.
